KEY POSITIONS HELD IN NIGHTWIND CASTLE

DUCHESS
The Duchess is the highest power (after the royals) and holds several baronys. She gifts land segments as she fits. She offers protection and bargains any loans from the Meldrum Bank for those lands as requested by the Barons and Baronesses. In dire situations, she is the final say.
Duchess Ravenwood - Lady Aly McDraven-Lovari

BARONESS
The Baroness cares for the people of her Barony. She gives them protection, sees to the day to day issues of the land, provides for the commonwealth, gives guidance and direction, oversees land owners/business owners and remains always available and aware for her people. She answers to The Duchess and The Royals and appoints to the key positions within the Barony.
Baroness SeaCrest - Lady Kyriah Reinhardt


SEACREST ARMY GENERAL
This would be the highest rank in Military in SeaCrest Barony and Second in defense of SeaCrest. He is the best trained and most trusted Knight to make decisions about SeaCrest's defense should Kyriah be incapacitated to do so. Of course, he would be in service to Aly MacDraven and the Royals.

SEACREST LEAD KNIGHT
It was the duty of a Lead Knight to learn how to fight and so serve their Lord according to the Code of Chivalry. Weapon practice included enhancing skills in the two-handed sword, battle axe, mace, dagger and lance. Had to possess the ability to motivate and direct and earn the respect of the other Knights.

The Chaplain was responsible for the religious activities of a castle servants and Men at arms. The duties might also include that of a clerk and keeping accounts. A Priest would usually looked after the spiritual needs and confessions of the Nobles and their families

A Herald was a knights assistant and an expert advisor on heraldry. The Herald (or Harker) would declare announcements on behalf of the King or Noble to the public. Now Master Napier has the mind of a child but he is an excellent artist and friend to Kyriah who feels indebted to him and will keep him comfortable all of the rest of his days.

The Blacksmith was one of the most important, albeit lowly, occupations of the Medieval era. Blacksmiths forged weapons, sharpened weapons, repaired armor.

The occupation of the Carpenter was diverse. Carpenters built building structures, furniture, roofing, siege engines and wood paneling. Carpenter: a skilled craftsman who shaped or made things of wood. Carpenters were highly skilled and considered to be elite tradesmen

The occupation of a Messenger was often dangerous as if the message delivered was less than favorable the Messenger was often the victim of the incurred anger of the recipient leading to the saying "Don't kill the messenger". Messengers were eventually made exempt from punishment by Law due to the news they delivered.
