The total population of Flos de Terra comes to about 217,000 souls. Of these, There are about 162,750 human beings of various pasts, and 54,250 peoples of various magical races, the majority being Elves, Half Elves, and peoples with Fae bloodlines. Despite these numbers, a consensus among the cartographers and developmental experts is that only 38% of the land may be considered “Settled” and breaks down as so:
The largest settlement and only one that may be considered a true city at 8388 souls is Fairhaven. It is well protected by one of the four defensive castles, known as Landguard Keep. Lesser towns dot the land along the coast, amid the fields, and even in the mountains that make up the spine of the land. They run between a thousand and eight thousand souls. I have listed their names, but not exact populations for brevity's sake.
Along the North Coast,in the ship building towns there are; Northport, Crownjewel, Kings Landing, Morcantville, Traverk’s Folly, and Tradecove.
Scattered to the west shore and inland, used as trading towns for the shepherds and southern ports are Sheppardton, Dragonshore, and Earlsport.
More inland among the Mountains are Waypointe, Keystone, and Elgren’s Forge.
Scattered throughout, there are roughly 200 Villages, Hamlets and Throps.
To defend these lands there are of course major defensive structures for both Militia and use of the DMoS as needed. The highest end of these are four castles, largely made in the style of fortified Stone Keeps. While nowhere near the grandeur of Meldrum Castle, they are fairly defensive minded and capable of protecting our citizens. They include;
Frostwall Castle, in the far North of the land near Crownjewel,
Stormhold Keep, which is north of Morcantville on the eastern shore.
As mentioned prior, Landguard Keep stands ready to defend the city of Fairhaven near the plains between the west coast and the border with New Kaurst.
Finally, amid the Dragonspire mountains is Fortress Draconus, a unique Keep in that is serves as both a haven and voluntary militia gathering point for all willing dragons. It’s popular with silver dragons, and is also known as The Silver Castle due to this. It is the only castle with rooms sized for both human defenders and larger dragons. | |
