| Mel was upset. Why would he be upset? Because his wife was furious. She fumed all the way back and never said a word to him the entire trip from Shade's dinner for Luludja. A time of celebration seemed to be overshadowed by an offhanded comment from Morrigan Darkrose to the Queen about meeting the Princess in the morning. It was presumptive of Morrigan, of course, to believe the Princess had met with her parents. Morrigan couldn't be blamed for the comment. But where WAS the Princess?
Mel's birthday came and went and there was no word from Siobhan. The earthquake that devastated so much of Meldrum City and the castle, yet not a word from the Princess. Even in the shire of Manheim, the Princess made no appearance. Yet, at court one night, a suitor presented gifts to their Majesties asking after the Princess.
Now, it seems, the Princess was seen enough by the Darkrose clan that Morrigan made the comment to the Queen. Caillie was, and is, extremely upset that her daughter couldn't find the time to come to her parents with an explanation for her absence for so long. Studies abroad are one thing. She's a grown woman now and has responsibilities that had to be turned over to another. A division had to be led. Father did it for a while but there had to be a permanent replacement named. Duchess Car Zenesa, Luludja Stum was the choice and a good one.
And yet, where is his daughter, and how was it that word got to her about a suitor and she came running? | |
