::BJ had received the news of his niece's birth, and had spoken to Mali
after he received the message. Together they agreed to send a gift. Mali suggested creating a quilt, and together they chose the colors. Clan colors, of Wine, Tan, Green,
and Black. The quilt was large, easily big enough to keep her warm for many
years. He watched as Mali and several of the other ladies who frequented her
company made short work of the quilt. There were large squares of each color,
bordered by smaller squares of the accompanying colors. In the center of the
large squares was placed a different emblem. A Raven, for the Clan...a Snail,
for her Uncle. A Sailing Ship for her Mother, a Crown for her Father.::
::BJ had it bundled with a few other things, a hand-carved rattle, his
contribution. Extra diaper-cloths, from Grace. Bits and necessities from the
other women in Ravenshire. He had the things sent to the Lovari holdings, with
the following note::
Sister...and Brother-in-Law,
Greetings...and may the gifts here find both ye and the child well.
May ye find joy in her laughter, and she love in your arms.
May ye find delight in her smiles; may she find strength in yours.
May there always be tears of happiness, and never ones of sorrow.
May she find her way, but always know where home is.
