The questions of Diana, daughter of Michael, brought back the very real curse that lies upon the Meldrum name. In a time when the world was nearly destroy by the great evil of the time, the Great Meldrum, grandfather of Mel, took upon the healer of the sun with a vow to always and forever keep her inside him or his offspring sons. But the curse part was he would no longer exist. Upon the son's 17th birthday the father would die within hours.

And so the curse was passed to his son after centuries of battles. And his son passed it on after centuries of battles. And now Mel had to pass it on to his son to save his life and there the entity resides. Yes, he too has fought against the evil of the world but he met his wife much younger than his forefathers. The wars have ceased and peace reigns in the lands.

Will this be a factor? Can his son be saved from the curse? What will happen to him when finally his son turns the age? He hadn't mused on it for such a long time. But since Byron was now 16 the truth has come back to haunt.
