An Enchanting Request (Literally)

After finishing up at the Healers tower, and making a quick stop off at the bank to get her currency changed (which she almost wish she hadnt, considering the conversion rate still gave her a bag almost too heavy to carry even in her basketpack) it was time to visit Michaels shop for a long-overdue armor enchantment.

As she entered the shop, the door ringing a cheerful sounding bell, she looked around a moment before approaching the counter, leathers armor out of her pack and in her arms, folded neatly. Not seeing anyone up front, she tentatively called out "Uhm...helloo? Anyone here? Is this a bad time? I can come back later..."

From the back, with a few mutterings about clutter, came not the expected Michael, but a shortish young looking woman with long black hair, dressed in a modest black dress and sleeves.. and owl trailed her. "Hello." She said, nodding respectfully. " Welcome to Darkrose Artifice and Mystic Things.... My name is Laureline. I'm a... friend of Lord Darkrose." She gave Miyuki as polite, amused smile. "He apparently felt like owing me a favor, because today he sent one of his staff at all speed to my bar, asking me to watch his shop for a few days....You are.. " she looked down at some parchment and papers. " Miyuki Ketsuhana, Yes?.. You were discussing armor and cloth enchantment with Lord Darkrose?" The owl watched Miyuki with surprising intelligence even for an owl.

"Er...yes, we had. Ive brought both the leather and cloth to be enchanted" she said, a little hesitant. She lifted the pile of clothes to the table, setting along side them both a sack of what sounds like gold

"This SHOULD cover what I want done, but if theres any descrepency, Michael knows how to let me know"

"Indeed he does.. and indeed he will figure it out I'm sure. Money is one of his specialties, is it not? Leather and Cloth? Very well. " Laureline smiled.. okay, enchanted laundry.. well, whatever. It was probably a good idea really. Everyone expected enchanted armor.

She smiled pleasantly and bowed before leaving, now musing to herself.

Oh, if that woman knew what kind of fights those leathers had been through with her....shed probably handle them with tongs and throw them in a fire.

They had seen her through several different worlds, ten different adventuring parties JUST from her time in the World Serpent Inn ( most of which survived their adventures) and more blood-filled bandit raids than she could count...or WANTED to count, for that matter. And yet they had become her most reliable piece of equipment, somehow never over the last few years being pierced or damaged beyond quick and easy repair in the scattered instances where she had been injured. She had concluded, therefore, that they must be lucky...and maybe a little of it had to do that shed become quite skilled over the years...maybe. She was quicker to believe luck, being her own worst critic.

She laughed to herself quietly. Her father would have whapped her on the head for such a silly belief...shinobi did not have "lucky" armor. Still...it was nice to finally get it enchanted. Now, lucky or not, it was one less thing to worry about.
